Kenya’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup Bandari FC have been barred from using their Mombasa County Stadium base for the continental matches in 2016.
Bandari booked the continental slot with a 4 – 2 win over Nakumatt FC in the GOtv Shield tournament but a communique, the FKF says that only two stadia in the country are approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host continental matches.
According to FKF, only Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium are approved while the Mombasa County Stadium has not been inspected to host matches of that level.
Given the directive, Bandari, based in Mombasa will have to move their training base to Nairobi which has a higher altitude as compared to Mombasa.
Bandari starts their 2016 CAF Confederations Cup against Congolese side St. Eloi Lupopo in the preliminaries.
