Former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko has backed Mario Balotelli to improve and help the Rossoneri do well in the Italian Serie A.
Balotelli joined the Sansiro outfit on loan from Liverpool but has found his game time restricted after an injury which resulted in the striker having to go under the knife.
“I don’t quite know if this is the last chance for Balotelli,” The 39-year-old told Omnisport. “But he has a lot of qualities and it’s time he showed them.
“I wish him the best and to do so much better, he’s a guy who can give so much more to football.”
Shevchenko also gave his stance on Milan’s current situation, as tempers are beginning to flare following what club president Silvio Berlusconi describes as a disappointing start to the season, with rumours even suggesting an exit could be on the cards for coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.
“I don’t know about everything that is going on at the club but I think that Milan need to give a little more time to Mihajlovic,” he continued.
“He has only been working for a few months and I have seen some good games, so let’s see.”
