Mario Balotelli began life in France with a bang as he scored twice on his Nice debut when he helped the club beat Marseille 3-2 at the Stade Municipal.
The 26-year-old who has suffered a massive deep in form over the cause of the last two seasons did not waste time to settle as he opened scoring in the seventh minute of the match.
Marseille fought back as Former Newcastle United midfielder Florian Thauvin levelled scores in the 38th minute. However, it was the former Manchester City and Liverpool star, Balotelli that gave his side the lead as he netted a penalty.
On loan Swansea forward Gomis equalized again for the away side but with eleven minutes left to play Wylan Cyprien stunned their more illustrious opponent with a sumptuous goal to end it all 3-2.
Balotelli will be satisfied with his personal contributions as he got a 9/10 rating after the game, hitting four shots on target from seven attempts in which two went in.
The Italian forward only scored three times in 23 appearances for AC Milan last season but he has hit the ground running and Nice management will hope their gamble of bringing him to France will pay-off.
