Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale will not be featuring in the Saturday 13 February La Liga game against Athletic Bilbao and may still miss the Champions League clash against AS Roma on Wednesday.
The Welsh star has been out since the 5 – 1 win over Sporting Gijon in January and has suffered a fresh setback to the calf injury he picked in the game.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that indeed the winger’;s return will be delayed, but added that he will not be rushing him back to action, which leaves him with lesser firepower heading to the Champions League.
“He needs time and we need to be patient. We need him to be 100% fit.”
“He is feeling better every day but I am not going to say that he will be back training with us next week. If he is feeling pain then it is to be expected that he might suffer a setback.
“Gareth is such an important player for us that we are not going to take any risks.” He stated as quoted by BBC.
