Real Madrid will miss the services of the key duo of goalkeeper Keylor Navas and key man Gareth Bale when the team welcomes Valencia for the La Liga clash scheduled for Sunday 8 May at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A statement on the Real Madrid website states that the Welsh forward suffered a joint strain in his knee and will be unavailable for the match as his condition is being observed while Navas has been diagnosed with an Achilles tendon injury.
He two have not been named in the squad that will be facing off with Valencia on Sunday though Karim Benzema who has missed the last three matches is in the team, as well as goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, who is expected to take up Navas’ roles.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who returned against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League semi final second leg will be in the team as well as Casemiro who missed the game.
Goalkeepers: Casilla, Rubén Yáñez and Álex Craninx.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo, Arbeloa and Danilo.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric and Isco.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Lucas Vázquez and Jesé.
