The Super Falcons of Nigeria are high on confidence that they can record an away win over their Senegalese counterparts in Friday’s first leg 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations final qualifying fixture.
The Falcons will be leaving the country today (Tuesday) with a crack squad of both foreign-based and home-based players and everyone including the officials have been talking tough that they want nothing short of victory in their away tie.
Some of those high on confidence are the striking duo of Desire Oparanozie as well as Francesca Ordega who have both stated their resolve to gun for goals that would wreck the Senegalese in their backyard.
Also, Coach Florence Omagbemi submits they have prepared well enough and they are good to get victory even away from home.
“We are in good shape, there are no injury worries for us, by God’s grace we want nothing short of victory on Friday,” France-base Oparanozie stated.
For Ordega, the Falcons are on a redemption mission after the failure at the All-African Games and missing out on an Olympic Games ticket for the umpteenth time.
“We are ready to give our best on Friday, we know many Nigerians are not happy with us after the All African Games and the Olympics” Ordega also submitted.
The Senegalese Football Federation has confirmed to the NFF that the first leg match will take place in Dakar on Friday, 8th April, while the NFF has also confirmed Tuesday, 12th April for the return leg in Abuja
