Spanish international, Alvaro Morata is delighted with his return to goalscoring duties for Juventus as he netted one of the goals in the Old Lady’s 3-0 home win against Inter in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.
The former Real Madrid forward admitted that the last few months have been tough. However, his form last season has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
“I hope it’s behind me, this night is huge for me,” Morata told reporters after the Inter match.
“The truth is that this has been a pretty tough time for me, not just on the field but off it. I think it was a mental problem as I was having troubles in my own head.
“I want to be a great player and in order to do so I have to leave my troubles on the sidelines when I take to the pitch.
“I have to once again thank my teammates in this incredible team, as they speak to me every day and give me great support.
“I’ve been working every day to re-find my form and feel I am a different player to yesterday, as strikers live for goals and I hope to get many more.”
Morata last scored for Juventus in the 3-1 win against Bologna in October, 2015.
