Premier League leaders Arsenal are set to miss out on Nigeria Under-17 striker Victor Osimhen, as the youngster has given the strongest hint yet that he will be joining Bundesliga side, Wolfsburg instead.
The 17-year old was speaking in Abuja shortly after being named as the Caf Youth Player of the year 2015 following his exploits at the Fifa Under-17 World Cup, where he scored 10 goals.
He said he would most likely be joining Wolfsburg as he liked what he saw when he visited the club.
“I’ve been to Wolfsburg to see their facilities and I think I like what I saw,” he told 366football.com.
The lanky striker however posited that he is still weighing his options as he has several received numerous offers, including from Arsenal.
“There are new offers coming in now and I want to take my time to focus and let my representative do the rest.
“Yes, I will consider Arsenal because they have a very good record with young players so I think if I don’t sign for Wolfsburg, it should be Arsenal,” he added.
