Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala is set to swell the ranks of Nigerians at Arsenal as her present club, Liverpool Ladies have ‘reluctantly’ accepted a bid from the Arsenal Ladies’ team for the Nigerian’s signature.
The 21-year old joined the Liverpool Ladies in January 2015 after impressive spells in Nigeria and after an impressive run at the 2014 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, as well as emerging as Africa’s best female footballer.
In a statement on their website, Liverpool Ladies announced that the Arsenal Ladies have activated a clause in the player’s contract, and as a result, they ‘reluctantly’ accepted a bid from their London rivals.
“Liverpool Ladies Football Club can today confirm that the Club has reluctantly accepted a bid from Arsenal Ladies for Asisat Oshoala.
“After the Gunners activated a clause in the Nigerian international’s contract, the striker will now discuss personal terms with Pedro Martinez Losa’s side,” a statement from the club read in part.
Oshoala’s move to Arsenal will now be subject to her obtaining a work permit ahead of the 2016 season.
