Arsenal have reportedly completed a deal for key Leicester man, who becomes the Gunners’ second January addition following the arrival of Mohammed Elneny from Basel last week.
This means Leicester have now lost their top scout Ben Wrigglesworth who was the head of Foxes’ technical scouting and has been credited with bringing stars Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante to the King Power Stadium to Premier League title rivals Arsenal.
Mahrez and Kante have been key men in Claudio Ranieri’s side, with the Algerian winger taking the plaudits for scoring 13 goals in his 21 Premier League appearances.
The Algerian’s combination with England’s Jamie Vardy which enjoys the support of Kante’s resilient displays in the middle of the pack have been incredibly influential in Leicester’s impressive rise this season.
But now the Foxes are set to lose Wrigglesworth to Arsenal who are only ahead of them on goal difference with 16 games to go, with both sides joint top of the league with 44 points. According to the Daily Mirror, the highly-rated scout is now on gardening leave ahead of a switch to the Emirates.
Arsenal are believed to be long admirers of Wrigglesworth, who is set to officially complete his move from Leicester in the coming weeks.
Wrigglesworth is the second member of Leicester’s scouting team to leave in the past 12 months, following Rob Mackenzie who joined Tottenham Hotspur as head of player identification in February.
