Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is confident that his side can get the better of title “favourites” Leicester City when the teams meet at Emirates Stadium next weekend.
Arsenal got their title hopes back on track in the Premier League after goals from Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain saw off Bournemouth on Sunday.
The victory saw Arsenal climb above Manchester City and they will try to cut Leicester’s lead to two points on Valentine’s Day if they win.
“[Beating Bournemouth] is very good for the future as we now have a very big game at home against Leicester who are now the favourites for the Premier League.
“[A win] can maybe prepare you in a better condition for the next game. We have a week to prepare for that and I have to think about it. Leicester is a strong side but we are also a strong side. At home with our fans and support, we can do it.” Wenger told Arsenal Player
Wenger praised Gabriel and Oxlade-Chamberlain after the win at Bournemouth after the Brazilian defender contributed to a clean sheet and the England international scored his first Premier League goal away from the Emirates.
