Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa knows his days at the Spanish giants are numbered and he has already hinted at leaving the Santiago Bernabeu to seek other prospects at the end of the season.
Arbeloa, formerly of Liverpool has struggled to find play time at the team and was a surprise inclusion in the game against Las Palmas on Sunday 13 March and had to thank the manager Zinedine Zidane for considering him in the team.
Real Madrid labored to a 2 – 1 win in the match and Arbeloa, speaking after making the appearance, said he has just a few matches remaining at the team and trains a lot when he is not selected.
“I am aware that I have little time left here. Now I’ve only got a few games left and I train a lot on my days off. It’s a situation that had to come and I thank the coach for giving me the opportunity to play,” he said.
His contract expires at the end of the season and having made just four appearances this season he is ready for the next chapter.
