Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is interested to return to the hot seat for the Black Stars.
Avram Grant replaced Appiah and reached the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. However Appiah does have the distinction of successfully qualifying Ghana for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
“If it happens that I should be back, I will be back, nobody knows,” Appiah told Starr FM.
“Coaching is my profession so I will never stop coaching until my time is up.”
However Appiah was criticised for Ghana’s failure to progress pass the group stage in Brazil. Since then they’ve been looking at a higher profile coach who can beat the world’s top nations. Grant is that man.
Though, Appiah is the type of coach that can get them to tournaments such as Russia 2018.
It is likely that Grant’s contract will be renewed if he can place them on track for the World Cup. A disaster may have to occur for Appiah to get back into the reckoning, but he’s up for the task if required.
