The Swansea attacker has talked up a move away from the club since the beginning of the season.
At the earliest opportunity he was hoping to play for Liverpool, and again hoping to move there in January or the summer transfer window. Ayew was so desperate to join his favourite club that he reportedly said he’d prove himself for free (without wages) earlier this season.
Failing to attract the attention of Brendan Rodgers, Ayew has performed admirably for Swansea. Not satisfied with his challenge there, the Ghanaian attacker has now set himself the hope of representing a Champions League team next season.
“Whether it’s the ‘Big Four’ or with a club qualified for Europe, I have the ambition of rediscovering the European Cup every year, like I experienced with Marseille,” Ayew told RMC.
Reading between the lines, Ayew could be making himself available for even the likes of Tottenham and Leicester. Then there’s his favourite club, Liverpool who could qualify for the competition if they beat Sevilla in the Europa League final.
Either way Swansea would have one unsettled player if they don’t sell him soon.
