For yet another year, Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo was the main man for Real Madrid, riding the team through the La Liga race, fighting for the title to the final day and his former coach, Carlo Ancelotti has described him as a great professional.
The Portuguese forward will be expected to lift Real Madrid when they go in search of the 11th European title in a week’s time and Ancelotti, who won the Champions League with Ronaldo two year’s back says no even money can motivate the Portuguese forward.
He used a curious example in a chat with the Financial Times saying at some point at the Spanish club, the star would ignore his girlfriend just to keep fit for the club.
Ancelotti told the newspaper that the star would stay at the Real Madrid training base until 3 am taking an ice bath: “Even though he had [model and former partner] Irina Shayk waiting for him at home.
“He does not care about money, he just wants to be the first.” Ancelotti said.
