Still desperate to get a club for himself, former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi has began trials with Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
This is the fourth Championship club in the last few weeks that Ameobi will be testing with as the 33-year-old seeks to get a club for himself.
The Nigerian striker has been without a team since he was released by Crystal Palace at the end of last season and has spent time with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town.
However, having seen nothing materialise from those stints, the centre-forward has now been offered the chance to earn himself a contract at the Macron Stadium.
“We’re looking at Shola Ameobi. He’s in on trial with us at the minute,” Bolton boss Neil Lennon told reporters.
“He’s a quality player with a lot of experience. We’ve asked him to show us what he’s capable of and we’ll consider our options.”
Aside the long spell at Newcastle, Palace, Stoke City and Turkish side Gaziantep BB are the other clubs Ameobi has played for.
