Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has declared that he is unstoppable based on his current form in the premier league.
The Algerian scored the winning goal in the Foxes 2-1 victory at home to embattled Premier League champions Chelsea yesterday night as they returned to the top of the log with 35 points, two above second placed Arsenal.
Mahrez has now scored 11 goals in 15 premier league appearances this season while his strike partner who also scored against the Blues has racked up 15 goals in 16 matches this campaign.
“I don’t know if anyone can stop me but I need to do my best for the team, but the most important thing is the performance of the team,” he told Sky Sports.
“We did a great game and deserved the win. I have a lot of confidence, when you keep scoring and making assists it’s normal to have confidence.”
Despite a dream start to the season which has seen them top of the league in mid-December, Mahrez is not getting carried away on the task ahead for the Claudio Raneiri’s side.
“We need at least 40 to 42 points to be safe [from relegation],” the 24-year-old said.
“It is good to have 35 points from 16 games. We deserve everything we have achieved.”
Leicester will return to premier league action on Saturday when they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.
