Nigerian forward Abbas Akinyemi, the Muhoroni Youth skipper has branded the Kenyan premier League (KPL) game against Nairobi City Stars a must win clash when the two teams face off on Thursday 28 April.
Akinyemi led his team mates to a 1 – 1 draw with league leaders Mathare United in the Sunday 24 April clash at the Nyayo National Stadium, the second straight draw and much as he says it is a welcome result, he says they must make for the lost ground with a win over City Stars.
“One point from a team like Mathare United is a good point and also given that we were playing away. Next we take on City Stars and we will be at home so we will be going all out for three points.
“In terms of our morale and ambitions, a point is a boost because we know we will need it in future; we have been improving well as a team every season and this one is not any different,” he said.
Akinyemi had to miss the opening weeks of the KPL as he waited for his work permits to be processed and has so far played two matches.
