Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed injuries to key men Sergio Aguero and David Silva.
While the Argentine forward will be out for a month Silva and Aleks Kolarov has also been ruled out for a fortnight as well. That would rule all three out of the derby a week on Sunday.
The Manchester City manager confirmed that his Argentine striker will, as expected, be unavailable for around four weeks after picking up a hamstring injury playing for Argentina last week. That means he will miss City’s midweek clash against Sevilla.
Silva and Kolarov also picked up knocks on international duty and Pellegrini said: “Aguero has a muscle injury – it’s an important injury so I don’t think he will be back before one month.
“We’ll see how they [Aleks and David] improve in the next week – I hope both of them can be back in 15 days.
“Kolarov has a hamstring injury, Silva has a kick, Aguero has a muscle injury. Clichy and Delph are still out too.”
Pellegrini had positive news on Yaya Toure, who picked up a hamstring injury of his own at Tottenham last month, and Samir Nasri.
He added: “Toure and Nasri are both recovered.”
Long-term injury victim Fabian Delph is also nearing fitness with the manager saying: “For Delph, maybe one week more and he will be working with the squad.”
