The Pharaohs of Egypt have lined up a double-header against West African side, the Stallions of Burkina Faso as they plan to get in top shape for the looming AFCON qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Egypt Football Association (EFA) executive committee member Ihab Lehita disclosed the Pharaohs will play two friendly games against Burkina Faso in Cairo on January 24 and 28 as part of preparations for their crucial 2017 AFCON double header against Nigeria in March.
It was gathered that a third game is also being muted and will be announced later and it is expected to be against Romania or Uzbekistan in February.
Egypt are top of their AFCON qualifying group with six points from two matches, while Nigeria are second on four points.
With only the group winners gaining the automatic tickets to qualify for the 2017 AFCON in Gabon, Egypt are keen to make the most of the looming clashes against Nigeria as many already posit that the next two games will have a huge influence on the final standings in the Group.
