Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards returned to the summit of the KPL log with a 2 – 1 win over visiting Kakamega Homeboyz in the clash staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday 30 March.
The visitors were the first on the scoresheet with Charles Momanyi scoring on the eighth minute, beating AFC Leopards goalie Lucas Indeche with a right footed shot that sailed to the left of the post.
Eugine Ambulwa equalized on the 55th minute, heading home Yusuf Juma’s free kick from the left channel before Kepha Aswani scored the winner on the 71st minute.
AFC Leopards keeper Lucas Indeche had to stand tall to keep out Homeboyz in the dying moments to allow his side collect maximum points that took them to the helm of the table on 14 points, one ahead of Tusker FC who now drop to second from six rounds.
Mathare United dropped to third after being served a 0 – 2 defeat by Nairobi City Stars.
