Nigeria Olympic striker Oghenekaro Etebo is confident they will have a good outing at the Olympic Games despite their less than impressive preparation.
The Nigerian U23 side have been dogged by a number of setbacks, including lack of finance from the Nigeria Football Federation and sports ministry, as well as poor results in their test games but the striker is confident they will excel.
“I am very confident we will do well at the Olympic Games,” he told fcnaija.com.
“The results have not been encouraging because we weren’t happy with the results we got in the test games but we will get things right at the Games.”
The team will depart their Atlanta, Georgia, United States base today for Brazil, ahead of their group opener against Japan on Thursday.
The other teams in their group are Colombia and Sweden.
