Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his readiness for the pre-season friendly against city rivals Manchester United as both sides meet in Beijing today.
Both Manchester clubs are in China as part of their pre-season program and will meet in a seeming mouthwatering fixture at the Beijing Bird Nest Stadium and speaking ahead of the game, Iheanacho says it is one game he’s looking forward to, and as well the Manchester derbies in the Premier League.
“They (Manchester United) have got a great manager and great players as well so I think it is going to be great playing them,” said Iheanacho.
“It is also going to be great to play them in the derby in England as well and I think it is going to be a great game to watch.
“And it will also be a big opportunity for me (to prove myself) and we will need all the players in form, so it will be a big opportunity for me to work hard and play well in the game,” he added.
Meanwhile, ahead of the game, both managers – Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho – have said the biggest expected for them in the game is to have their players uninjured, as it is now expected that several of their fringe players will be given a run out.
