Rangers coach Imama Amakpakabo has spoken of their desire to return to the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League table ahead of the Oriental Derby against Heartland today.
The Flying Antelopes are in Owerri to face the Naze Millionaires in the first game of the second round of the league and Amakpakabo says it is a game they hope to win so as to return to the top of the table.
“The target is to win, get the points and return to the top of the table,” he told fcnaija.com.
“We should still be on top if not for the Giwa issue because if we still had the three points we got from that game, we would still be top.
“So playing at Heartland, the aim is to win and get these points and get back to the top of the table,” he said.
The Flying Antelopes are fifth on the table at the moment, and could return to the summit if they win, and also pending what the teams above them play.
It is looking like their biggest opportunity to win their first silverware in 32 years.
