Colombia star James Rodriguez has been told he can leave Real Madrid, reports in Spain have suggested.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with the Colombian after he failed to get a regular at the Bernabeu.
And El Confidencial claims Jose Mourinho can add Rodriguez for some creative spark if he can find £62million.
The Portuguese boss allowed Juan Mata to leave Chelsea for Old Trafford and the Spaniard could make way yet again to raise funds, although nothing has been decided.
Rodriguez, 24, has fallen further down the pecking order since Zinedine Zidane took charge.
And with the Frenchman securing his future by lifting the Champions League, he will have sufficient clout with Florentino Perez to mould the team in his image.
World Cup Golden Boot winner Rodriguez is happy with life in Madrid despite not playing in the Champions League final.
After the game, he said: “In football you never know but I want to continue here and my idea is to have many more years with the club.
“I am happy here. All the people close to me are happy too. It’s the ideal club and I want to be here.”
Rodriguez is under contract until 2020 so Real will be prepared to hold out for much of the £62m they paid for him but may budge later in the window if no bids are forthcoming.
Los Blancos have invested big money in keeping Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo happy and have also been linked with a sensational swoop for Neymar.
