Pictures of Granit Xhaka wearing Arsenal’s home kit for next season have surfaced ahead of a £35million move from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Switzerland midfielder arrived in London for a medical on Thursday night and is believed to have sealed a move from the Bundesliga club for a fee in the region of £35million.
The Daily Mail had reported on Friday that Xhaka was set to undergo a medical at the Emirates but there was still some discussion over the 23-year-old’s wage demands.
Pictures of Xhaka in Arsenal’s home kit for next season started to circulate on social media on Saturday.
When the move officially goes through in the summer, Xhaka will become the latest member of Arsenal’s 100 club.
Only a handful of players earn £100,000-per-week or more at the club including Petr Cech, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
It is understood that his deal will be worth £110,000-per-week and will run until the end of the 2020-21 season.
The Swiss international is one of Europe’s most talented prospects and has previously admitted a move to the Premier League would be a dream.
“The Premier League is not my goal, but a childhood dream. It is a dream that could be fulfilled,” Xhaka said
“As of now, I am still a Gladbach player, that might change in the next weeks, or it might not.”
Wenger’s team failed to make one out-field signing last summer as they ended the Premier League campaign as runners-up to Leicester City, but the Gunners have acted quickly in the transfer window before Euro 2016 as they prepare to launch a title assault ahead of the new season.
