Nigeria international Sunday Mba ended his season in Turkey with a red card after he was sent off in Yeni Malatyaspor’s final game of the season.
The 27-year old started for Malatyaspor as they hosted Boluspor, in a game they lost 3-1.
While he was impressive in large parts for the home side, it was a tough game for them as they tried to get back into the game having gone two goals down inside the first 40 minutes of the encounter.
He received his first booking in the 76th minute for a rough challenge, and would go on to receive his second booking and his marching orders just three minutes later, thereby reducing his team to ten men.
Boluspor would go on to score their third goal just four minutes after his sending off, and even though Malatyaspor scored a late consolation it couldn’t help them end the season on a high after also missing out on the play-off places for promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.
Meanwhile, Nigeria U23 captain, Okechukwu Azubuike started the game from the bench, but came on in the 46th minute but also couldn’t do much to prevent them from the loss.
The other Nigerian at the club, Izu Azuka was not listed for the match.
