Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo will lead a list of over 40 players that will be invited by Nigeria under-23 coach Samson Siasia ahead of their Rio Olympic Games participation, fcnaija has reliably gathered.
Iwobi, 19, plays club football for Arsenal in England and was recently capped fully by the Super Eagles. Iheanacho, also 19, plays for Manchester City also in England, and is also a recent Nigeria international at senior level, while 22-year old Omeruo currently plays for Kasimpasa in Turkey, on loan from English giants Chelsea.
Also penciled down by Siasia are Imoh Ezekiel of Anderlecht in Belgium, goalkeeper Dele Alampasu of CD Feirense of Portugal and Wilfred Ndidi of Gent in Belgium.
The under 23 side, the Dream Team VI as they are called, are expected to begin preparations for the Games with a training camp in Abuja, that will begin with players based in Nigeria and will play a few friendly games before they are joined by the overseas-based players.
Also listed amongst the overseas-based players to be invited are captain of the side, Okechukwu Azubuike, Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Osimhen and Junior Ajayi.
The draws for the football event of the Games will hold on April 14 at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janiero.
Nigeria is in pot 2, alongside Honduras, Korea Republic and Iraq.
