For Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, the pain is real after his team’s 1 – 2 loss to arch rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico on Saturday 2 April and the defender has stated that he wishes to meet Real again this season.
The two sides cannot meet in domestic action again in the season but may well face off at some point in the Champions League and Pique wants it to happen in the final in Milan.
However, before he can think of Real in the final, Pique will have to keep a level head ahead of his team’s quarter final match against Atletico Madrid later on Tuesday 5 April.
He admits that it will be a tough one even though Barca starts at home but he is itching to help his team back to winning ways.
“I would like to face Madrid in the Champions League final,” confirmed the Spaniard. “Anyone would want to play them and we should have more confidence, such is the legacy of [Johan] Cruyff.
“What we like are challenges, and again we play on Tuesday against a great rival. We have to win to show why we have won everything and are looking forward to doing it again,” he told Marca.
