Nigeria international Sone Aluko has earned the praise of his manager at Hull City, Steve Bruce, after he put up a man-of-the-match performance in the 4-0 spanking of Osaze Odemwingie’s Bristol City.
Aluko scored one and assisted another as the Tigers ran riot over their opponents to keep their hopes of a return to the Premier League alive.
The 27-year old started very brightly when he joined Hull City from Rangers of Scotland but lost his place after suffering a nasty injury which kept him out for long.
But speaking after the game at the KC Stadium, Bruce said he was never in doubt of Aluko’s talents, just as he displayed when he first joined the club.
“We all know that Sone was terrific for six months when he first arrived here before having a horrible Achilles problem that effectively kept him out for 12 months,” Bruce was quoted on Hull City’s official website.
“He was then trying to play catch-up in the Premier League and he found it a bit of a struggle.
The former Manchester United defender went on to describe the Nigerian as terrific after his performance against Bristol.
“But we all know the ability he has got and when he’s good, like he was in this one, he makes the team play. He was terrific.”
