Okechukwu Azubuike will be paired with new Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel in the midfield when Nigeria host Egypt in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier later today barring any last minute change of plans, fcnaija can confirm.
The Yeni Malatyaspor of Turkey midfielder has been in good form since he joined up with the squad for the back-to-back games and sources within the team has informed fcnaija that he will be in the starting 11 when the game kicks off at 5pm.
Azubuike has been in and around the Super Eagles for a couple of years and narrowly missed out on the team to the CHAN 2014 tournament, but is yet to make his full international debut for Nigeria.
He is currently the captain of the national Under-23 side, but will make his first senior appearance later today in the first leg of the crucial back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Ogenyi Onazi will miss out as he serves out the remainder of his two-match suspension for the red card he received against Chad last June.
