CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa has spoken of his goal which earned his side a 1-0 victory over Spartak Moscow in the Moscow derby on Sunday.
The 23-year old scored in the 11th minute, what proved to be the winner for CSKA as they maintained their three points lead on the table in the Russian Premier League.
Speaking after the game, Musa said he was confident of scoring again against their city rivals having already done so in their previous meeting.
“I was really confident that I will score again,” Musa told bobsoccer.ru after the game.
“The fact that I often hammer this team, and that this time I had no doubt that I could excel. The feeling that once again I will score, and that is already settled in me,” he added.
The Nigeria international lasted the entire duration of the match and the goal was his seventh in the Russian Premier League this season and has kept them on the summit of the table.
Meanwhile, his countryman and international teammate, Aaron Samuel was on the bench for the entire duration of the match. The 21-year old only joined the club last month on loan from Chinese outfit Guangzhou R&F until the end of the season and will be hoping to make an impact before the expiration of the loan deal.
Both players have been invited to the Nigeria squad for the back-to-back 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt later this month in Kaduna and Alexandria, with Samuel making a return to the team after almost one year out.
