Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has been summoned to appear before the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation on Friday the 26th, for deliberations over his preferred list of players for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt, fcnaija understands.
The embattled coach is also expected to discuss his plans and tactics for the double-header against the Pharaohs in Kaduna and Cairo.
The 41-year old had planned a tour of Europe to watch and discuss with the players he intends to invite for the games, but will now be forced to ditch that plan as he revealed in a radio interview last week that he was yet to get the financial assistance he needs to monitor the players.
Oliseh is yet to send his list of players for the games to the Glass House, but is expected to do so when he appears before the committee in Abuja on Friday.
The Super Eagles host the seven-time African champions at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on March 25, before travelling for the return leg in Cairo five days later.
They sit second behind Egypt in qualifying group G with four points from two games, while the Egyptians have maximum points.
Oliseh must at least get three points from the games to keep Nigeria’s chances of making the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations alive as anything less may effectively end Nigeria’s hopes of making it to Gabon, and will signal the end of his short but tempestuous stay as the Nigeria coach.
