Ahead of their Europa League round of 32 clash against English giants Manchester United, Midtjylland of Denmark midfielder Rilwan Hassan says they will have no fear when they face the former English champions.
Speaking exclusively to fcnaija.com, Hassan said United’s pedigree doesn’t come into play, seeing as there would be 11 players starting from both sides, meaning they have equal opportunities.
“They re team like us, it is going to be 11 men vs. 11 men,” Hassan told fcnaija.com in an exclusive interview.
“We just have to go there and do our thing.”
The 25-year old is expected to start for the Danish club at the MCH Arena and when asked if Manchester United’s woes in the Premier League are the reasons for his confidence, he says he doesn’t think their inconsistent run in England should have much bearing on Thursday night as it is a different competition.
“I don’t think it’s going to affect them because this is another competition entirely and they are coming with everything to win and likewise us, we want to do everything to secure a win at our home ground too.”
His confidence notwithstanding, the Nigerian admitted it will be a tough game.
“It requires a lots of hard work and I know very sure that we are all ready for that. But I think it is going to be a hard game because they are one of the best teams in England.
“It’s going to require lots of hard work and full concentration if we want to conquer United. We have done it before against Southampton and I am very sure we can still do it again,” he added.
