Louis van Gaal launched into another rant following questions about his future after their 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Manchester United was already downbeat after they conceded a late equalizer and went on a rant when he was questioned about Jose Mourinho’s imminent return to management and the possibility of him being replaced by the Portuguese in the summer.
“You have spoken with Ed Woodward? Why do the club have to deny anything?
“Why do the club have to deny it when you are creating stories? Okay, so you haven’t spoken to Ed Woodward or the Glazers?
“So you are inventing this story. I don’t have to answer this question,” he said.
As he continued, he addressed a journalist, and said: “You are getting the sack tomorrow. What is your name?
“Then I can announce your name also. Then you look at your wife, or maybe you have children, or a nephew.”
It wasn’t the first time the Dutchman would be questioned about his future, and it wasn’t the first time he was registering his displeasure at his future being questioned.
He also criticized the performance of referee Michael Oliver, saying: “When you whistle for the end of the match, then you have to whistle either on the sixth minute of added time and not let the Chelsea corner be taken.
“Or you have to let that event of the game go on. We were on a counter-attack, and then he whistles. ‘He also did it in the first half. So, two calls were against Manchester United, I don’t think it’s fair.
“When you decide, as the referee, that after six minutes they can take the corner kick, then you have to let us take the counter-attack.”
