Diego Costa could be set for a sensational return to Atletico Madrid after the Spanish club sold Jackson Martinez for an astonishing £32m.
Martinez failed to sparkle at the Vincete Calderon and scored just twice in 15 games and Atletico feared they would make a huge loss on their investment on the Colombian, only for Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande to snap the striker for an astonishing £32m.
It is now believed that they will use that money to try and get Costa back to Spain, from where he moved to Chelsea in 2014.
The striker has had a poor run so far this season following a stellar start when he propelled Chelsea to the Premier League title last season, and even though his form has improved a bit over the last few weeks, sources close to the player say he has not really taken to life in London.
The 27-year old has also publicly stated his desire to return to Atletico at some point in his career and the former Spanish champions are hoping they can get him back in the summer.
