Ryan Giggs missed Manchester United’s win over Stoke City on Tuesday night because of a family emergency, contrary to speculations on twitter he was on the verge of securing the Celtic job.
The Manchester United legend was conspicuously missing as United thrashed Stoke 3-0 in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Tuesday night and there were speculations on twitter the 42-year was set to replace Ronny Deila as the Celtic manager.
Giggs was only granted a compassionate leave due to a family illness and he had used the time to be with his family.
The former Manchester United winger has been widely touted as Louis van Gaal’s replacement, at least on an interim basis should the under-fire United boss get the boot before the end of the season.
He took temporary charge of the team in April 2014 when David Moyes was fired as the Manchester United manager and while the majority of United fans would prefer Van Gaal gone and Jose Mourinho take over, a section of the fans still believe Giggs will be the perfect man to replace the Dutchman.
