Anglo-Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom scored a hat-trick as Hull City beat Bury 3-1 to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The striker who is on loan from Arsenal, got a rare start at Gigg Lane and took full advantage as he pushed the Tigers to the next round of the competition.
He had been playing second fiddle to Abel Hernandez in the Hull attack as they sit atop the Championship table, but got the nod in this FA Cup tie as manager Steve Bruce sought to give a rest to some of his regulars.
The 20-year old didn’t disappoint as he notched up a hat-trick for the Tigers and they will be hoping to go one step better than they did in 2014, when they got to the final of the competition.
Akpom is on a season long loan from Arsenal, and while he has struggled to ignite the Championship with goals, the goals today must have boosted his confidence.
