Jose Mourinho’s supposed six-page letter to Manchester United outlining why he would be the perfect replacement for Louis van Gaal is ‘absolutely ridiculous and totally absurd’, according to his agent, Jorge Mendes.
The Portuguese manager had reportedly written a six-page letter to Old Trafford outlining reasons why he should succeed the under-fire Van Gaal, and supposedly also pledging to live by the club’s rules, but his agent has been quick to quash the reports, and have described them as ‘absurd’.
“It does not occur to anyone that a coach like Jose Mourinho can write letters to clubs offering their services.
“It is absolutely ridiculous and totally absurd,” he wrote on gestifute.com.
Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea last month after a poor start to the season and has been linked with the Manchester United job ever since, with Louis van Gaal continually under intense pressure.
Whether Mourinho wrote the letter or not may not matter as Louis van Gaal continues to falter at Old Trafford and if the club decides to let him go now, they may choose to go for the controversial former Real Madrid boss.
