Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has terminated his contract with AS Roma by mutual consent and is set for a move to the Major League Soccer.
The 35-year old only joined the Italian club 18 months ago but lost his place in the team after the initial fanfare, and is now set for a move across the Atlantic where he is expected to join Steven Gerard at LA Galaxy.
In a statement on their official website, Roma thanked Cole for his service to the club and wished him well for the next stage of his career.
According to reports, he is already in negotiations with LA Galaxy and could seal a deal before the end of January.
He played just 11 times for Roma having joined from Chelsea, and he also previously played for Arsenal.
