Barcelona has sent scouts to watch young Everton defender John Stones with a view to making summer move for the 21-year old.
The Spanish giants are believed to be huge admirers of the central defender’s talents and have followed his progress recently, the most recent being Everton’s 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Saturday.
Ironically, Chelsea are also interested in the player and made several bids for the youngster last summer, which were all turned down.
The Premier League champions made offers in excess of £38m and despite the player handing in a transfer request, Everton refused to budge but it remains to be seen if the will be able to keep the defender beyond next summer.
Stones still has three years left on his current contract and Everton are expected to open negotiations with him over a new improved deal, even though he is very much unlikely to sign an extension.
