Arsenal and Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi has set for himself a target ahead of the new 2016/17 EPL season.
It has been quite a pre-season for Iwobi with Arsenal following his recent goal scoring form for the North London side.
Iwobi was on target to provide the equalizer against Manchester City as Arsenal finished their preperations for the new campaign with a 3-2 victory over the Etihad side on Sunday.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Iwobi who struck a brace in Arsenal’s win over Vikings prior to the City game said:
“The challenge for me is to play as many games as I can, and to try to use the opportunities that I get. Hopefully, like today (Sunday), I can try to get as many goals and assists as I can.
“We have done very well in our games. We just need to use that confidence throughout the season. We’re all good, everyone’s good, everyone’s smiling and everyone’s happy. Now we’re just looking forward to the season.” Iwobi told the Arsenal Player.
on his goal against Manchester City, the youngster added: “When Theo made that run I started sprinting for my life. I wanted to get that goal, so when it came across and saw it come to my feet I thought, ‘I have to take my chance and make sure I hit the target’. Luckily for me it went in.”
