Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has admitted that he is looking to strengthen his squad in the current transfer window in a bid to retain their treble crown.
The Catalan giants were placed under a transfer embargo until the turn of the year, and bolstered the ranks with no fewer than 77 players.
However, with only two of those arrivals senior recruits, Enrique admitted he is looking to add to his personnel yet further, with his strike force in need of back-ups.
“I think that right now we need to strengthen the forward line,” Enrique said. “But I would like to bring in reinforcements throughout the team.” Enrique stated.
Meanwhile, the Catalans’ manager his players will approach Wednesday’s Copa del Rey derby at Espanyol the same way they did in the previous two.
After a scoreless draw at Espanyol in La Liga on 2 January and a 4–1 victory at Camp Nou in the first leg of the Copa del Rey last 16 on 6 January, the Catalans head back out to Cornellà-El Prat for the second leg and with an eye on advancing to the quarter-finals.
