Former Warri Wolves manager Paul Aigbogun has completed his switch to Enyimba and will replace Kadiri Ikhana as the club’s new ‘technical adviser’, the Nigerian champions have announced.
The People’s Elephants parted ways with Kadiri Ikhana, who led them to their seventh league title last year, after they failed to renew his contract, and Aigbogun has been mentioned ever since as his replacement.
It will be Aigbogun’s second spell in Aba, having previously coached the team, and led them to their third Federation’s Cup triumph in 2013.
A statement on the club’s website reads: “Enyimba Football Club can confirm that Coach Paul Aigbogun has been appointed as the new Technical Adviser of the club.
“The management, players and staff are pleased to have Paul back as head coach because he not only has top-level experience, he is equally familiar with our club and share our passion and ideals.
“In his previous spell as assistant coach in 2013 when we won our third Federation Cup, he stood out as a thorough professional, one that is as driven as we are for glory and success.
“We are very confident he can guide the team to great heights and will give him all the support he needs to succeed.
“His appointment takes effect immediately.”
Aigbogun was with Warri Wolves last season, and led them to second place in the league, incidentally behind Enyimba.
