FC Taraba midfielder Usman Mohammed has finally joined the Home Eagles camp in Abuja after initial fears that the U-23 star has opted out of the CHAN tournament.
Sources in camp told 366football.com that with the arrival of Usman means only Gbolahan Salami has failed to join preparations in Abuja for the Rwanda 2016 CHAN tournament.
Usman fresh from his exploits in Senegal where he helped the Dream Team VI secure a ticket to next year’s Olympic Games is seen as a good addition to the Home Eagles team hoping to unseat current champions, Libya.
The home Eagles currently sweating it out in Abuja will be leaving the shores of the country for a training camp in South Africa where they should play at least two test games before heading to Rwanda.
Recall that Nigeria was missing at the first edition of the CHAN tournament in Cote d’Ivoire in 2009, and Sudan in 2011 before making it to South Africa 2014 where the Coach Stephen Keshi tutored side snapped up Bronze.
