Skipper Asamoah Gyan would welcome Ittihad midfielder Sulley Muntari back into the Ghana fold.
Muntari is suspended after his controversial 2014 Fifa World Cup campaign where he was physically aggressive against Black Stars management for financial reasons.
“We all know Sulley and what he brings to this team,” Gyan told the media.
“His quality is immense and I will be very glad to welcome him back.
“He has scored very important goals for our country and so yes, we need him.”
The Ghana FA stressed that Muntari will need to apologise before returning to the setup. He hasn’t apologised and so he wasn’t selected since Brazil 2014.
“But I am not the coach and so can’t determine when he will earn a recall.
“If the coach decides to recall him, we’ll be happy to have him back. But those kinds of decisions are really not part of my job.”
