James Milner has hailed Liverpool over their hard fought victory against Andre Ayew’s Swansea.
Milner was the hero as he tucked away a second half penalty to hand new manager Jurgen Klopp his first win in the Premier League at Anfield.
“It wasn’t the prettiest of games. It was important to win,” said Milner, according to BBC Sport
“The win last week against Manchester City would have been a waste if we had not won. It was tough conditions for the match. I don’t think it was ever going to be the best game to watch and it was all about getting the points.
“It was brilliant to see them [Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge] out there as they are big misses when they are out. There is a long way to go but shows what a few wins can do.”
Courtesy of the victory against Swansea, the Reds are now placed sixth on the Premier League log with 23points.
